Another one of the groups I’m working with in Moray is Out of the Darkness Theatre Company. This organisation is absolutely wonderful and from what I can see they are one of the few drama groups in this region who are providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities to be involved in performing arts activities including technical, stage support and performance.  The atmosphere in the studio is one of equality, liveliness and creativity supported by a great small team of Support Workers with professional training in theatre and media, one Support Drama Worker and various professional freelance theatre practitioners.

Out of the Darkness are a professional theatre company who create and perform an inclusive programme of theatre and training as well as delivering an NC Acting and Theatre performance for Moray College. They also provide work experience places for pupils and students in Moray. They run shorter projects for individuals and groups who are marginalised. Its a real pleasure to work with this hard working group and to offer them some additional support as they tentatively emerge from a very difficult lockdown where many of the people who attend were further isolated and marginalised by the restrictions placed on the organisation due to covid19.

They are a social enterprise and business contracted to deliver projects and courses, and they also have charitable status.
